Senior Portraits

I had the pleasure of doing my nephew's senior portraits. I enjoy these types of photographs because I remember how much fun they were when I was getting mine done as well as the significance it held. These are two of my favorites.

The best of 2012

2012 was a fun year. I had so many opportunities to capture the essence of family and friends. Here are some of my favorites from the year.

These photographs are of my favorite subject - my son. Derek was a 28 weeker and weighed only 1 lb. 8.4 oz. at birth. His survival was nothing short of a miracle. We are so blessed to have him in our lives.

Friends of mine from church wanted family portraits done. We spent one sunny afternoon at the local park and got some great shots they will always cherish.

Some of my favorite people in life we've met in life's challenges. One of the other moms from the NICU and I still keep in contact and we get together for play days as often as we can. Here are our two precious miracles. The little miss in these photographs weighed only 1 lb. 5 oz. at birth. Together they are our one pound miracles.

This last one of my son was our Christmas photograph for our cards this year. He's so full of life - and full of mischief.

Nature Photography

Although I have a great desire to capture the essence of people, I also love to photograph nature. I think that is my first love. Here are some of my favorites.

Family

I love photographing family. I can usually capture moments they don't know are being recorded, so it makes for  a real sense of spontaneity and candidness. While others are posed, they are willing participants which makes for some great photography as well.

The "C" Family

I've known mama C for quite a few years now. I was excited to have to pleasure of photographing her beautiful family on location at a nearby state park. The day turned out beautiful and the scenery blessed us with great back drops as you can see. Although it was warm, the shade of the forest eased its sting.

Melissa Morral Photography

I've been doing photography since high school, but I've been doing portrait photography for five years. I've always loved capturing the essence of a person in a single moment in time, and I believe the perfect shot can tell the viewer so much about the character, personality, and life story of the subject. The pictures below are of my son, Derek who was my miracle child. He was only 1 lb 8.4 oz. at birth because has born 12 weeks early. On other posts you'll see some other great people of my life. Enjoy the sample photographs I've included, and be sure to let me know what you really like. It is how I improve myself as a photographer.
